OK, I hate the smell of ferulic acid, but I metaphorically hold my nose and use it anyway.
What Is Ferulic Acid?
Ferulic acid is a plant-based antioxidant primarily used in anti-aging skin care products. It’s naturally found in the following:
- bran
- oats
- rice
- eggplant
- citrus
- apple seeds
Ferulic acid does double duty in skincare products. It fights free radicals while also boosting the effectiveness of other antioxidants, such as vitamins A, C, and E. Often you will see ferulic acid paired with Vitamin Cs and E because:
- it stabilizes Vitamin C
- it elevates the performance of Vitamins C and E in terms of providing protection against photoaging.
Derma E Ferulic Acid Resurfacing Pads
In addition to ferulic acid, Derma E Ferulic Acid Resurfacing Pads also contains resveratrol (another antioxidant that is derived from grapes) and lactic acid. Because I also use Korres Velvet Skin Drink with Resveratrol, I think it’s working even harder for me.
I use these slightly pungent pads after cleansing and toning at night. They make my skin feel extra clean (though not stripped), while removing dead skin cells. Longer term, they help firm and make lines and wrinkles less apparent. Another terrific skincare product from Derma E.
The jar contains 50 pads and is priced at $24.95.
Right now, Derma E’s website has 20% off cleansers, exfoliators and peels with the code COMECLEAN, and I think Ferulic Acid Resurfacing Pads count as an exfoliator. Plus Rakuten gives you 4% cash back on Derma E these days. Derma E is also widely available at retailers Ulta Beauty, Amazon, Whole Foods, Target, CVS, Walgreens and many more.
