FragranceThe estimated reading time is 3 minutes Atelier des Ors’ Iris Fauve EDP Shivani 0 Comments By 2020, I found a few online stores that sold decants – fragrance samples in different sizes. Due to COVID I no longer shop in shops and don’t believe that they have any testers anymore. Who can smell when wearing a mask? Three of six fragrance samples I received from Indigo Perfumery were winners. Today I will tell you all about one. Atelier des Ors Iris Fauve Iris Fauve is Wild Iris translated into French. In my most recent perfume journeys, iris is one of the key notes in powdery scents. It’s also a common note with vanilla and violet. Spiced orientals, including amber scents and powdery fragrances, are my favorite types of perfumes. In the 90s I wore the powdery Ombre Rose, but lately it has been all about spicy orientals. Iris Fauve is my favorite because it’s a powdery oriental and the notes and accords that make up its composition are all of my favorites. Amber Woody Warm spicy Earthy Iris Cinnamon Powdery Balsamic vinegar Musky aromatic. Atelier des Ors, a fragrance label from France is independent. Iris Fauve is a scent for both men and women that was released in 2017. Marie Salamagne is the “nose” behind Iris Fauve. Notes for Top Notch: Iris Cinnamon Bergamot Middle Notes Patchouli, Cypriol Oil/Nagarmotha Haitian Vetiver Notes on the base: Myrrh Labdanum Musk Liatris. Iris Fauve is a warm powdery floral to me. Iris Fauve smells just like springtime to me, but it’s wearable all year long IMHO. But I am terrible at describing fragrances. This is a fragrance description I found on Fragrantica.com , a website dedicated to scent enthusiasts. Celestial veil. Skin that is delicately draped. Cocoon of powder. A tender, surprising and enchanting caress. Serenity. Marie Salamagne’s favorite materials, Iris & Musk, are used in this creation. This very personal fragrance is inspired by the mythological figure Iris, who was a messenger for the gods. Iris, who brought good news to Zeus’ wife Hera, was loved by Hera. The rainbow is also personified by Iris, and known as the “scarf of Iris”. Iris Fauve wraps her skin in a soft, reassuring touch. This is a composition that’s intensely sensual. It contains spices, smooth and powdery notes as well as animalic elements. Iris Fauve, a refined scent, is warm, enticing and elegant. This is an excellent description. This is like a “scarf from Iris”, it’s warm, comfortable and elegant. I adore it! Iris Fauve lasts a long time, unlike other fragrances that I have tried. The scent is definitely noticeable because people have asked me “what I am wearing”. To make sure I would like it, after I had tried out the 1ml Sampler Set I purchased a 5-ml Spray Sample from another online retailer (I can’t recall which one but you can now find it at Scent Split). It was great. After I finished the spray (5 ml), I began looking for a larger bottle. When I checked out the Atelier Des Ors website, I was surprised to find that it costs $275 for 3.4 fl. oz.! It’s not something I would spend, but it is also available at LuckyScent and Bergdorf Goodman. It was cheaper elsewhere on the internet. When I ordered in October I believe, the lowest price I could find was at perfumeonline.ca, a Canadian website that offers discounts. Perfumeonline.ca, like Fragrance.net and other discount retailers online in the US is similar to Perfumeonline.ca. The rewards program was very attractive. It was free to ship this order but I had to pay $3.95 extra for insurance because it was the first time I ordered from Canada. My order was delivered in about a week, or perhaps a bit less. My bottle cost $148.28 at Perfumeonline.ca. When it arrived, I was completely blown away. It’s sooooooooo luxurious! The packaging looks just like the $275 perfume bottle. It is simply too pretty to throw away the black and gold package that came with this bottle. The outer box is black with gold accents, and the inner box has a more durable black and golden presentation to keep your bottle safe. It’s nestled in gold metallic paper. The sea urchin symbol on the box is so cool. It is one of the most thickly-glassed perfume bottles I’ve ever seen. The bottle is a ton of weight, lol. On one side, it has a pattern of cut glass that looks like the sunburst. There are gold pieces at the bottom of this bottle. Wow! Iris Fauve by Atelier des ors is a great option for those who like powdery fragrances. You can get a small sample and decide if you like it.
