Experience the Ultimate Sun Protection with New Tatcha Silk Sunscreen SPF 50
In the last few months I have seen a number of advertisements for new Tatcha Silk Sunscreen PA . Since I am a big fan of Liquid Silk Canvas Primer and Dewy Skin Cream I thought that I would love the Silk Sunscreen. The Silk Sunscreen sounded as light as a bird, and it’s a mineral sunblock with an SPF of 50. Perfection, right?
Tatcha’s Friends & Family Sale a few weeks back was 25% off. I purchased a bottle of The Liquid Silk Canvas to replace my old bottle just before it ran out. Also, I got three sample products that I hadn’t yet tried.
Silk Sunscreen
The Silk Sunscreen was pictured in my head as a mousse that is light and fluffy. It was a light, whipped mousse that I imagined would sink into my skin.
The Silk Sunscreen was delivered last week and I am still surprised.
The packaging itself was totally different than I had expected. It is actually quite innovative. Silk Sunscreen is packaged in what I would call a flat-bottomed bottle. The silver cap is unscrewed to reveal a pour-top. The first time I unscrewed the lid, a tinted liquid gushed out. It’s shaped that way so you can squeeze it as you reach the end.
The second thing I didn’t expect was a liquid. Liquid Silk Canvas Primer is not liquid, but rather a gel cream. Silk Sunscreen does not look like a mousse, as I had expected. It is a lotion.
It has an initial greasy feeling that goes away. My skin also gets a slight shine that I dislike, but that too will disappear.
The mineral-based zinc oxide Silk Sunscreen has a tinted finish to prevent a “white cast” on the skin.
Silk Sunscreen Ingredients SPF 50
Tatcha also markets The Silk Sunscreen for facial skin care as well.
It also contains niacinamide, which helps to firm the skin and reduces redness. Hyaluronic Acid is added to increase hydration. Silk Extract is rich in amino acids that give skin a glow. They also provide additional moisture. The Silk Sunscreen should be used after moisturizing.
Dimethicone is the ingredient that makes my skin smooth.
Tatcha is cruelty-free and dermatologist-tested. The formula is free of mineral oil, synthetic perfumes, sulfate-based detergents and parabens.

What are my thoughts compared to other people’s thoughts?
Sincerly, I don’t like The Silk Sunscreen PA ++++. You could tell. It’s not cheap, but I got it at a discount. It’s actually more expensive than what I expected: $60 for 50ml/1.7fl. oz. It’s not going to last long, since I purchased it.
The Tatcha site has 569 reviews, with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. Everybody loves it:
- it’s “not greasy”
- It “disappears” on my skin
- The tint conceals zinc oxide, which disappears in the skin
- It has SPF50.
Price was a major complaint. The bottle was messy for some women, which I initially agreed with, but then I learned that you need to hold the bottle up most of the day and squeeze just a tiny bit.
You may also like The Silk Sunscreen 50, just like Tatcha customers on Tatcha’s website. Tatcha is currently out of stock. You can also buy it at Sephora, Kohls, and QVC. You should definitely try the travel-size if they ever release it. They are currently giving away a small Silk Sunscreen when you spend over $125.
