Hand and Nail Care: Tips and Products for Healthy, Beautiful Hands

Summer is the most ideal time to take care of my hands and nails, but I’m getting older and still face some challenges with them.

Blaine Labs RevitaDerm 40

My peculiar skin condition, exfoliative Keratolysis, returns in the warmer weather. Most people with this condition do not experience skin problems during winter. They usually report that they only have it in warm weather, from May to September. It’s just beginning for me this year. The topmost layer of skin peels off. It’s characterized by the peeling of top layer skin. It’s not curable, but a product I use that contains 40% urea, RevitaDerm40 from Blaine Labs, has helped me minimize it. (See my original post for describing in more detail.

RevitaDerm40 soothes and reduces peeling. 4.0 fl. oz. For about $21

Aveda Hand Relief

Hand cream keeps my skin from feeling and looking dry on my other hands while I’m using RevitaDerm 40 for my thumbs. Aveda Moisturizing Creme is the best I have found so far for my very dry skin.

It says on the tube that “it deeply moisturizes to give you soft and supple, skin” and it really does. This is an excellent hand cream to use all year long if you suffer from desert-dry skin. If you have normal or oily skin, you will love Aveda Moisturizing Creme in the winter.

Aveda helps me to plump up my hands, which have become thinner as I age. Great stuff! It’s almost scent-free! oz. For $24

Natrol Biotin tablets 5000mcg

Biotin is something I consume all year long. Natrol Biotin Melting Tabs in Strawberry Flavor are my favorite.

Take two tabs a day or 10,000mcg total. They also come as 10Kmcg Tabs. As a result, my hair and nails have grown very rapidly! My nails grow long in the summer due to biotin and warm weather. Natural Biotin 5 000mcg is 250 tablets, and I can use it for about 3 months. Costco sometimes has it for around $10.

Mont Bleu Glass Nail File

Use my Mont Bleu Glass Nail file to control my growing nails. This gorgeous nail file is amazing. The file does a fantastic job of filing my nails without damaging the nail. It’s perfect! Amazon has it at incredibly low prices in sets of two or three glass nail files, with or without the crystals.

Zoya Naked Manicure

My nails are less polished because I spend a lot of time in the garden during spring and summer. They still need to be neat. Zoya Naked Manicure is the perfect solution. These products are actually not as new as I first thought. They were launched in 2015. The collection contains 9 polishes, of which I received 4 for testing. These polishes enhance nails instantly by smoothing out ridges and pits as well as neutralizing discoloration. Zoya says that “the results are obtained through the use of micronized pigments, optical diffusers and micro thin film.” These polishes are formulated with vitamins, sulfur amino acid, proteins and botanicals. With long-term usage, they will produce healthier, more flexible nails. After using the polish for a few weeks, my nails feel and look healthier.

Perfectors were sent to me in three colors: Pink, Lavender, and Mauve. You can see below that the Perfector gives my nails a pink/peach tint.

The Lavender has been my favourite so far because of the bright lavender color.

The Satin Topcoat gives me a natural, satin finish, as opposed to a glossy one.

0.5 oz. The Perfectors cost $10, and the Satin Seal Topcoat costs $12. Also, you can buy the starter kits for women and men.

Here are the products that I use to care for my nails and hands. What products do you use that you like?
